WHEN British holidaymakers get arrested in the resorts of the Mediterranean, there's normally drink involved.
The crime of "causing a scandal by provocative acts and misrepresenting a uniform" normally comes further down the list.
But
that was the charge faced by 17 members of a Sunday football team from
Bristol, who took to the streets of Malia in Crete dressed as "sexy
nuns."
After the local police took offence, the men faced a
night in the cells followed by a humiliating court appearance dressed
in nun costumes, lingerie and wimples.
While the charges were
dropped, the men learned that it's always a good idea to obey the laws
of foreign countries, no matter how strange they may seem.
